Weekend Thoughts

So far, 2014 has not been a great year for me.

It started with such hope and excitement but two weeks ago, I slipped on black ice and flew down my front steps like Joe Pesci's character in Home Alone. I hit all six steps with my head and back and had to be rushed to the ER (a first for me).

Everything is okay, I think. I am badly bruised with major contusions, but things could've been so much worse.

That is what is freaking me out; thinking about how I was one inch away from serious damage. I can't shake that feeling.

In addition, I had to cancel a business trip and since I work for myself, that meant no money.

But, the good news is that I have 11 months and one week to have a fantastic year!

I will try my hardest to make that happen.

When you are on your own and your sole source of income between you and the streets, it is just so damn frightening! I live in constant fear of slipping and falling on ice during the walk home from the bus stop in the dark at night; but in truth, it could happen during the day, at any time. I am so glad you didn't suffer more serious physical damage (so to speak), but I fully understand the hit your pocketbook took. May you recover swiftly and may the Goddess of Money smile upon you and send some great opportunities your way. Hang tough! You have many rooting you on in the background.
