New Summer Shoes and Essie Lilacism

When this 9 1/2 wide finds shoes that fit, I buy them!

This summer, I found this pair of shoes on the JCPenney website. They are by EuroSoft and were $36.00. So comfy and sexy!Next, at Lord & Taylor, I found these really cute wedge rose gold sandals from Sperry. Love them too!And what would a new pair of shoes be without a fresh pedicure. This time, Essie Lilacism.Have you found any great shoe bargains this summer?

Netgear Wireless Router Trouble

I've been missing from blogging for a week now. You see, I don't like to blog in one spot. I like to blog from whatever room in my home or outdoor area inspires me.

But, I cannot do that because my three-year old (yes, three friggin' years) wireless router from Netgear has left me wireless.

For about a year, I have noticed that my wireless Internet connection has been dropping. I used to be able to reboot the router to get back on the Internet but last week, it finally conked out.

I just cannot believe that a product would only last three years.

After contacting Netgear and getting the lamest of responses, I am researching other routers.

I certainly will not be purchasing a Netgear again.

What kind of router do you use and have you experienced this problem?

Get Your Summer Skin Ready with Dove VisibleCare Crème Body Wash

Ahh . . . summer time.

Warm summer breezes, the jingle of the ice cream truck, lazy days at the beach.
And, yes. Exposed skin. Lots of exposed skin.

It’s time to shed the layers and get ready to get sexy and show some body parts long hidden by coats and gloves and itchy sweaters.

I love my beauty products; body wash, lotions, crèmes, body scrubs, you name it, I use it.

So, I am always looking out for great products to help nourish my skin. I was excited to find out that Dove has just come out with a premium body wash called Dove VisibleCare Crème Body Wash.It is available in three varieties; a toning crème, a renewing crème and a softening crème.

I used the Renewing Crème and was thrilled with its thick crème which provided a great lather and a wonderful scent.

With days filled to the brim with work and family, it is easy to get lost while taking care of everyone else.

However, it is imperative that I take time for me and celebrate being a woman. In this case, the simple ritual of bathing can be special and relaxing when you have the right product to indulge in.

I want a body wash that feels nice on my skin, smells great and leaves my skin feeling more beautiful for having used it.

Dove VisibleCare Renewing Crème Body Wash does just that. It contains the highest concentration of Nutrium Moisture technology and after using it for just one week, my skin is visibly more hydrated; perfect for summer days filled with sundresses, shorts and tank tops.

This body wash would be perfect not only in summer time but I cannot wait to try it in the winter when all of that heat and dry weather do a number on my skin.

My First Container Garden

I come from several generations of green thumbs - my dad is an amazing gardener! However, my thumbs aren't quite so green. But this spring and summer, I was determined to have a container garden.

What better way to try my first container garden than with free containers found in the 'hood on garbage day.In fairly good condition, I washed the containers and spray painted them black.

Next, off to Home Depot I went (Lowe's was of no help) with a list of good container garden plants I read about in Better Homes and Gardens magazine (love this mag!).

I found an employee who was so helpful and what he didn't know about, he researched on his iPhone. I came home with these four plants.I filled the planter 1/3 of the way with styrofoam peanuts and then soil.

Here is the planter in April . . .and here in July . . .Joseph's Coat which is special to me as that is the name of my dad and brother.Creeping Phlox which hasn't flowered yet.African Daisy which I hope will flower again. And lobelia which I absolutely am in love with!Seeing this container garden each morning on my front steps makes me happy.

Have you tried container gardens and if so, what are your favorite plants to use?

where I can walk undisturbed."

Turquoise Tablescape Perfect for Summer

For those of you who have read my blog for a while know that my favorite color is turquoise. I have so much turquoise items, it will soon require a 12-step program.

Here is a simple, cheap and colorful tablescape I created that cost less than $15.00 in total.Various turquoise glass items were found at The Christmas Tree Shops for anywhere from 89 cents to $1.99 each.

The seashell votive holder was $1.99 at The Yankee Candle Store and the two shell/sand votives are from Michaels for $1.00 each.

Hydrangeas - free, planted by mom and dad over 40 years ago.

Turquoise, how I love you.

Confessions of a Travel Size Addict

Hello. My name is The Single Nester and I am a travel size addict.

Yup. That's me.

I love all of those tiny bottles of lovliness.

As someone who travels for work and loves to travel for pleasure, I have collected quite the collection over the years.

From this Bliss kit on a British Airways flight to London . . .to all sorts of shampoo bottles . . .and mouthwash . . .and my favorite sewing kit from a Hilton property . . .I have collected it all so that this is what my collection looks like.It was time for an intervention.

I began by sorting everything into like piles. Then, I corralled each like category into a ziploc bag and labeled them.I then stored them in a three-drawer (yes, three-drawer!) unit. What a life-changer (it's the small things people).

Now, I can easily refill my toiletry kit and purchase whatever I am low on.

After each trip, I go through a toiletry checklist that I created (if you would like a copy, email me) and refill the kit so that when I need to travel again, it is all right there. What a time saver!!If something is missing when I restock the kit, I leave a note inside the toiletry bag so I know that I need to purchase that item for my next trip.

I admit that I bring entirely too much in my toiletry kit (does one really need a face scrub and a face wash?) but I like to have choices.

I never carry on my toiletry kit. TSA would throw a fit.

What toiletries can't you live without and how do you pack such goodies?

impart new vigor to the mind."

Fifty Shades of The Blue Man Group Anyone?

I am back from another business trip to Orlando. We had lots of rain thanks to tropical storm Debby but the sun came out for a few days which really doesn't matter that much when you are indoors all day. Thank god for a/c.

One of the events we took our group to was a lovely dinner at the Palm which is located at The Hard Rock Hotel at Universal. I have never eaten such perfectly cooked filet mignon.

After dinner, we headed to The Blue Man Group. Have you ever seen this show?

I remember when this show started in NYC but had never seen it. It is now in several cities and on a cruise ship. I didn't know what to expect.

I loved it and hope to see it again. It is a visual and sound extravaganza with lots of laughs and audience participation.

Here is a bit of what the show was like.Several ladies, me included, thought there was something very sexy about these men. The physicality of the show and the way they moved their bodies made these Blue Men very appealing.
