Dealing with the Loss of Loved Ones

Today is the second anniversary of my brother's passing. Crazy how time flies.

His death has made me miss my mom, who passed away 20 years ago, even more. Funny how that happens.

Today, my dad and I, around the time of my brother's death, released gold balloons (his favorite color) in the backyard. Just our way of reaching heaven.

How do you, if you do, honor your loved ones on the anniversary of their passing?

I'm sorry. I'm glad you and your dad were able to do something together to remember your brother.

My dad died in 1976...I think of him on that day, but I think more of him on his birthday and on Memorial Day I go visit his grave..he was a Vet... Hugs to you!

We lost a little granddaughter a few years ago and I (when I can bear to) walk to her grave and leave a little something there- a pinwheel or a butterfly on a stick...just something that makes me feel I am close to her.

It is funny how losing someone can make you miss someone else you have lost even more. I am glad that you still have your Dad in your life. Blessings- xo Diana

Oh sweetie, what a wonderful way to remember your brother. I always seem to fall apart when the anniversaries of my dad and nana passing away comes round, its great that you have some way to remember him by.

I'm so sorry Carnie...I 'm sure it does seem like yesterday. My girlfriend's mother passed away last Friday. I was so sad...she played an important role in my teenage years. I don't know really how I honor my deceased loved ones except by saying a prayer for them, I guess that is how I do it.

I didn't know that when someone appears in your dreams, it's because they miss you. Boy, or boy I must have a lot of people who miss me cause I am always dreaming of people who have passed over. Relatives, friends you name it. I dream every night!

Carmie,
I am so sorry for your loss. What a nice way to remember him though. Ironically, I am reading your post on the anniversary of the passing of one of my best friends. He passed away on April 28, 1994. I can't believe it has been 18 years. I like the dream quote...a great thing to read today. Take care and have a nice weekend.
