Why I am Boycotting The Jersey Shore

"There are days when any electrical appliance in the house,
including the vacuum cleaner,
seems to offer more entertainment possibilities
than the TV set." - Harriet Van Horne

I refuse, absolutely refuse, to watch The Jersey Shore in Italy.

They are an absolute disgrace and I really hope my fellow Italians do not think that this is the best that America has to offer. It is not.

No one, NO ONE, in my family both in the States and in Italy look, act or are anything like these trashy fools.

I am a proud Italian and these fools give Italians a bad name!

I'm not Italian, but I was born and raised in South Jersey. I've spend many hours during my teen years "down na shore." I tell anyone who asks, and many who don't that those people are NY and Connecticut. I'm not to proud of the Jersey Housewives either, but they are more representative of a certain socio-economic element of North Jersey.

They could go to the moon for all I care...I don't watch them. The sharks of Shark Week are much more civilized :)

I've never watched it because the commercials convinced me I had better things to do with my time.

I'm not even Italian and I find them offensive. I am originally from Pennsylvania and didn't think I'd ever live in NJ. And to have that trash represent the state where I live - gah!!!

Carissima! Well said. I have been in the States for 20 years and still trying to explain that in Italy we don't leave horses heads on the beds, lol (I haven't seen The God Father yet). I could write a book. The reason I came to your blog was the beautiful Jars you made with glue and blue and wanted to let you know that I shared your link on FB. Hope you don't mind Ciao Rita

I agree - that show is an embarrassment! I hate that now everyone in the country, actually world - thinks that NJ is like that! And yes, keep them out of Italy too! I adore that country!
