My Love Hate Relationship with Shoes

I love shoes. I hear Celine Dion has tons. I wish I had the money to have said shoe collection. image

But in reality, I wish I had different feet.

Since I was little, I squished my feet into shoes that did not fit. There were not a lot of fashionable choices out there in wide widths. Even today, there are not a heck of a lot.

I dream of heading to Italy to have a mold made of my feet so I can order shoes on a whim.

I once wished to never lose a pound just to have "regular size" feet.

But, as time goes by and I have become more of myself, I have grown to love my feet. I've even received compliments from men and women about my feet.

Life is too short to wear shoes that do not fit. So these past few years, I have really thought long and hard about the shoes I purchase.

All week, I will share with you some of my favorite and most recent purchases. I have about 80 pairs but who's counting. Here is a recent purchase from Nine West. They were under $40 and are so sexy. They are my FM pumps. If you can guess what FM stands for, shoot me an email ;)Next up are a recent purchase from DSW. They are so comfortable and are my first purchase by Sofft but will not be my last. They were wide width too!Next up is a comfortable espadrille from White Mountain followed by a sweet pair from Nine West.Share with me your favorite shoes and if you have trouble like me, in finding a sexy shoe that fits.

I have wide feet too. I hate, hate, hate shoe shopping.
Where do you find so many shoes in wide widths? If I am lucky enough to find something that fits comfortably, I buy it in every color available.

I hate wearing shoes. But as I have gotten older, I must wear something on my feet - gone are the days of walking across the acorn littered yard in bare feet.

I'm not a shoe person because I can't stand anything touching my feet. I prefer barefoot and, when I must wear shoes, flip flops. But I do envy those who get to wear pretty shoes!

Jessica Simpson is the best! They look like they would be torture but they all have a platform in them so it makes them way more comfortable and much easier to walk in! love them! plus I always find great pairs for around $30 at Macy's at the end of each season.

Ha! You are bad, Carmie! Or I'm bad for what I'm thinking FM stands for! Shoes are probably the only thing I can not {absolutely} purchase online. I have to go into a store and try them on. My foot isn't quite wide although with some styles I've had to get the wide for a comfortable fit. Some shoes are just so narrow even for "regular". I had some luck recently with a pair I got from Payless and another pair I got from Old Navy this year. Both wedges and I can wear them all day at the day job with no pain!

Love your shoes. I have difficult feet to fit because they are wide and I have really high insteps. The good news is I live in sneakers and hiking boots since we've retired, so I no longer need a lot of dress shoes. I hope you've had a great day. Blessings...Mary.

I guess I've been listening to too much "Cosmo Radio" on sirius but your high heel "FM" shoes ARE sexy and lead me to think the first word starts with "f" and the 'm' stands for "me". The older I get, the lower the heels are on any shoes I buy.

Oh I am with you my friend!!! I think I have around the same amount! Probably less though! I just can't stop buying them! Fancy Stilletto's are my weakness even though i only wear them a handful of times a year :(

HOLY COW that is some shoe love for sure!! I have never seen anything like that before aside from at a show store!! AMAZING! My favorite shoes are my new Coronado Keens. I am dingy girl that sports flip flops and sandals all year! Disappointing I am sure!

I don't have a love for shoes like most women but I do enjoy a good pair here and, there. Like Miss Kitty, I was thinking the exact same thing for the meaning of FM.

Oh, and I would love to own a pair Christian Louboutin Pumps, the Alti Pump, black or the Simple Pump in silver would be awesome!

Cute shoes in wide sizes, easy, Torrid. You don't have to be plus size to shop there. They have really nice accessories. Jewelry, purses, etc.

The FM shoes are great (and I do know what it means although I thought it only applied to shoes with a clear plastic heel!).

I'm the opposite case- a narrow foot. It never stopped me buying high heels left and right but increasing balance issues means I'm saying good to 4" and above and looking for cute at 2". Sigh...

My motto? If the shoe fits... buy it.
And yes, I know what FM pumps are. :)

Came by way of the blog hop yesterday and I know, I am late, but I did finally get here. I thought I had alot of shoes at one time, but I think you could open your own shoe store! Not sure what FM stands for except maybe For Me? I have had to have both knees replaced in the last year and a half so I don't wear heels anymore. I feel like I am going to fall! I am now following your blog thru GFC and would love a follow back from one shoe addict to another (rather used to be)!

Never seen so many shoes, except in a shoe shop... I hate shoe shopping, if I find a pair I buy several colors.

I recognize the problem with finding shoes that fit. Myself, I have large feet and I think the offer in the physical shops of large sizes is really very poor. I guess the same with small sizes and wide width shoes. If you like online shopping, I can recommend a new site with link tips to shops selling wide width shoes (among other categories). The address is http://www.sizes4you.com.
