From The Pleasing Hour to How to be Single - What are you Reading?

I have had this book on my shelf for years. And, after reading it, it could have stayed on my shelf and I would not have been any worse off.

Set in France, I had visions of being transported to the city of lights. Instead, I was transported on the first train to boredom.

Have you ever read a book and afterwards thought, how did I allow so much of my precious time, time that I cannot get back, be wasted? That was this book.

Now, I am starting this read. This book received mixed reviews on Amazon. It is written by the co-writer of He's Just Not That Into You.

Have any of you read this book?

Will I be upset with wasting my time again?

"People say that life is the thing, but I prefer reading."

I have not read the book "How to Be Single" but I did read the other other book this lady co-wrote. A book that I really liked (and I think it helped me when I started dating again after my 20-year marriage broke up) was "Mars and Venus on a Date". A book that my friends had raved about and I bought is "The Help". I'm not liking it much. I am about to ditch it after reading your post and not spend any more of my time on it.
