St. Joseph's Day Memories

March 19 is St. Joseph's Day and very popular with Catholics and Italians.

It is a very special day in my home because my brother and father have the name.

Every year, we would get together and eat St. Joseph's cakes. They look like this.

I remember last year's St. Joseph's Day very clearly.

I never thought it would be my last with my brother as he passed away last April.

This year, dad and I are going to a St. Joseph's Day mass and then we will head to the cemetery. I know I will cry.

Afterwards, we will eat St. Joseph's cakes with thoughts of my brother running through our hearts.

St. Joseph, please pray for us.

What a beautiful post, and what a lovely tribute to your brother.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting with me. I appreciated your kind comments. We saw Jersey Boys in Chicago two years ago. You're right. It's a must see! So happy to have found your blog!

I know the pain you have in your heart. Losing a family member you were close to is so hard and that empty place in your heart never seems to get filled up.

I have never heard of these cakes before but they sure look good! Do you make them or buy them? If you make them, will you share the recipe with us :)

I've never heard of St Joseph's cakes, but anything with the word 'cake' in it has to be good, right?

I'm sorry you lost your brother last year. I hope you and your Dad shared some special memories.
