Here are some from a recent visit.
Van Cleef & Arpels in the Bergdorf Goodman windows.
A few weeks ago, on an episode of Desperate Housewives, Vanessa Williams mispronounced the name and I wanted to break my television.
The "v" which replaces the "u" in Bvlgari is a nod to the company's origins which are in Greece, not Italy. They are today headquartered in Rome.
I love Bvlgari's rich family history and the incredible artisans who make their jewelry and other items. It is amazing to see the hard work that goes into these pieces.
And folks, the sample sales were to-die-for!
They had placed a 75-carat canary yellow diamond ring on my finger! It was worth over $1 million and it fit! It looked something like this but not exactly.
Ahhh . . . I get all goose-bumpy just thinking about it.If you are ever in Manhattan, definitely take a stroll along Fifth Avenue from 57th on down and admire these gorgeous creations.
Do I hear Lotto anyone?!

Oh, Carmie, to be in your shoes! I'm living vicariously through you, ya know! BTW, my sister's name is Karmann, and we call her Karmie sometimes, too:)

i couldn't possibly look in those windows...i get bitter about what i can't afford, and how can anybody possibly do so?
Be still my heart! Do you still work in downtown New York? How fun it would be to walk past these windows everyday. I have never been on 5th Ave. Someday...

DD2 wants a canary diamond like the one you describe.
We have a Harry Winston here too. Only it's spelled Hairy Winston and is an upscale doggie store. LOL
I'm so not a girly girl, but I do love beautiful gemstone jewelry, though maybe not quite as opulent as what yu pictured. Thank goodness we have a friend who's a jeweler so I have a few beautiful pieces.
What did they have to do to get it off of your finger? Did you get to keep your job? WHAT a great day at work!
