Abercrombie & Fitch - Fifth Avenue Store

Would you wait in line for this store?Hell no!

I am always amazed when I pass this Abercrombie & Fitch store on Fifth Avenue.

Firstly, the scent practically knocks you over as you pass.

Then, you see the huge line that wraps totally around the block.

You would think George Clooney was inside!

But no. Just a bunch of clothes.

Why do tourists do this?

I stood on a fairly long line to see Michelangelo's David in Florence.

But Abercrombie & Fitch?

You will never catch a native New Yorker waiting on this line.

"Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite.
Or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting perhaps for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil or a better break
or a string of pearls or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls or another chance.
Everyone is just waiting."
- Dr. Seuss

Okay a question for you...obviously this store is not new to 5th Ave right? or is it? A and F is everywhere... all major cities! Why are they waiting in line? My dd worked for years at the one at the Mall of America... I could not judge at that time.. I secretly detested the fact and she does now too... ugh! Have a nice day!

This is crazy! It is not like the clothes are of that good of a quality. The only times I go in is with my nieces, and I get a headache the minute we walk in. These people are nuts!

I think this is funny because there is an Abercrombie store in every mall in America. LOL

AGREED! I always tell my girls to hold their breath when we walk past that store in the mall. I feel like I'm going to get cancer if I breath it in. My cousin worked there over the Summer and she said the employees have to spray perfume in the air every 3 minutes as part of their job.

lol, NO I would definitely not. I was relieved when contrary to some of his peers, my son was not sucked into the A&F vortex. I get a headache from the aroma just walking by there in the mall.

Why do they do that anyway? Maybe a cupcake store. Or perhaps a bakery....but a clothes story. Very confusing,I agree.

These days I don't wait in line for anything, much less clothes...of any kind. But, I might wait in line for clothes that magically transform a size 10 into my old size 4 without hurting me. That, I might wait in line for.

This is what is called marketing.
They only let in a few people at a time, because else it will get 'too crowded'. That's bull shit of course.
When there is a line, people get interested at it and they think it must be something special, so the line gets even longer.
