Starbucks New Logo and Increased Prices

I am not a coffee drinker. I have never had a cup of coffee.

But, what I do love is a Tall Double-Blended Caramel Frappuccino. At Starbucks of course.

And let's face it, I love the atmosphere. I get a lot of work done at Starbucks.

There is a fairly big Starbucks about a 20 minute drive from me. There are other Starbucks closer to my home but this one has lots of comfy chairs and staff that are not particularly annoying.

I headed there the other day with my work that I planned on tackling and my Gold Starbucks Card. Didn't know that Starbucks had a Gold Starbucks Card until I received one in the mail. Guess I drink a lot of Caramel Frappuccinos.

I know exactly how much this beverage costs. I was surprised to see that Starbucks drinks went up 10 cents.

In addition, I received an email and video link from the CEO of Starbucks, Howard Schultz (whom I quite like), stating that for their 40th anniversary, Starbucks was changing it's logo.

Not a fan Mr. Schultz.

I miss the logo already.

Just my shot of two cents.

And speaking of two cents, I am going to track how much I spend at Starbucks in 2011.

So far, $4.07.

How much, if anything, do you spend at Starbucks?

oh man I was a serious starbuckaholic back when I lived in california and worked retail sales. Every day of the week on my way in, plus sometimes in the middle of the day. My drink of choice: Chai Tea Latte, hot in the winter, iced in the summer.

Now? I rarely drink starbucks at all. I live in a tiny town with NO STARBUCKS within a 60 mile radius (it's like I fell off the earth!) and when I'm in the bigger town shopping it's like I never remember. Plus I buy my chai latte in bulk now at the grocery store. ;) $4 for two weeks instead of just one!

I avoid big chain coffee shops so no Starbucks, if we have to go somewhere 'known' we go to Costa or Nero. Do you have either of those in the states? The do the same sort of stuff, but are cheaper! Between husband and I, we probably spend and £20 a month in them, which is alot actually!

About $30 bucks a year - ALL in the month of December, LOL! (Grab Starbucks, go look at lights - every Saturday night in Dec) lol

I do enjoy a good Starbuck's every now and again. I personally haven't tracked it as I don't think it's a huge part of my budget...and if I knew, I would probably start obsessing about the cruise I could have taken instead :-) Just kidding, I don't partake that often. My daughter, however, seems to walk in with a Venti something something with something and not something else but a no whip...or sometimes some whip EVERY OTHER DAY. I think she could have paid her car off already! :-) Fun post Carmie...:-) ~ Blessings, Janet

Not a fan of "the 'bucks." Their coffee is way too strong for me - and I drink decaf. I'll stick with Wawa or Dunkin' Donuts - better coffee and way cheaper.

Not gonna lie. I love Sbucks and won't drink anyone else's mochas ( I'm a mocha monster) except the ones I make daily @ home ( Sbucks beans). I live in Seattle so you can't turn around without hitting at least two. I know plenty of people who here who don't love them. I don't dare track what I spend but let's just say they should send me a diamond card! I'll pay the price increase. At least for now!

I agree! I hate the new logo!! I read an article about the new logo and how changing the logo for GAP was disastrous and the author thought the new Starbucks logo might not be the best thing for buisness.

A friend mentioned that he heard Starbucks has a new policy that went into effect and that the baristas have to talk more to the customers now, to make it feel more like a special experience than say just getting a cup of coffee at McDonalds. Have you noticed any change in them?

I can't afford to go as often as I would like to so I haven't noticed a difference.

What, the barista's are able to talk? not at the store near me.

I always order a soy green tea latte. They charge about 70 cents extra for soy. that sucks. But I only get about 4 a year so it doesn't matter.

Perhaps the new logo was expensive, hence the price increase to finance it, lol.

I spend $2.67 a day on Starbucks and we don't even have a Starbucks store. I am completely addicted to the Starbucks bottled Frappuccino.

I don't know what they put in that stuff but I feel like I left the house without my shoes if I don't get my morning Frappaccino.

I don't go to Starbucks very much, but I agree with you the old logo is much better!

I Love Starbucks. Around here it is simply the best coffee around. But every time I give my order I can't believe I'm spending almost $5.00 for coffee and milk. It's pretty amazing. And in agreement with the new logo, stick with what works, I always say.

Zero. Wow, I don't meet too many fellow non-coffee drinkers!

They have to pay for that new logo somehow.

I am totally miffed about yet another price increase from Starbucks!! As if they're not already the most expensive place to get a coffee drink - maybe they want to stay like that!? I've noticed my gold card discount doesn't change as prices increase - that little discount meant a lot at one time but now...not so much. I was a daily Starbucks customer - but now I can't validate the cost - without a discount my drink would be almost $6 for the iced one (now they charge more for iced vs. hot)!! That was my one treat - a little something special every day that just put a smile on my face...not sure now...SIGH...this world's greed makes me nauseous
