I didn't want to do "traditional" decorations; meaning, decorations from my last Christmas with my brother.
So, I decorated a bit differently.
After Christmas last year, I purchased from Target 2, two-foot turquoise Christmas trees. I believe they were $4 each.
For followers of my blog, you know I LOVE TURQUOISE!! Along with some white Christmas trees purchased from Michaels, my Christmas tablescape was set.
Every deer needs a doe.
Every tree needs an angel.
Every Christmas needs Santa.
And a crafter can never have enough glitter. These candle votives were purchased last season at The Christmas Tree Shops. They were something like 75 cents for two. I picked up three sets.
I am really pleased with my choices this year for my non-Christmas Christmas.

Very Pretty! I'm glad you didn't just not decorate at all. Your turquoise and white Christmas Cheer is so pretty!
You have the pretties non-Christmas Christmas! :) I love the turquoise and white and all your glittery creations are perfect!!! Beautiful! SO glad that you did this my friend!
That turqouis is gorgeous! I love tinsel trees & plan on adding a white one to my collected soon!
Popping by from Mad Skills Monday :)
Loving the turquoise for a colorful modern twist!
Where did you get that polar bear? I'm dying for one!
Love the trees!!! Very Christmas-ey in my opinion!! I was tempted to glitter (after featuring Marthas glitter shell ornaments), but then decided to use gold paint instead -less messy I guess.
Happy Holidays!!!

I'm normally a traditionalist, but I think these are beautiful! I'm so glad you found a way to decorate, and thank you for sharing the result with us. I love the glitter on the shells, too, and those glittery animals!
Beautiful! Love the colors!
Love it, Carmie!
Girl, I love it all! We are kindred turquoise spirits. I am so sorry about your brother. I went back to your April posts and read that he died. Please forgive me for bringing this up, but you need to know my prayers and thoughts are with you. I lost a brother, he died at 30 years of age. It was so difficult, so I can just begin to imagine what you are going through. Love and prayers...:)

I'm with Barbara, normally a traditionalist, but ohhhhhh how I appreciate creativity. Your turquoise and white are such a beautiful combination. Love your sequence of captioned photos, your deer and doe, angels, Santa and glitter. Cute...fun...entertaining. And blessings to you as you "celebrate" this first Christmas without your beloved brother. Janet

Merry Christmas!
Wonderful job! Love the colour combo. It has inspired to start thinking turquoise theme tree! Thanks for sharing.
I love your decorations. The turquoise is just beautiful.
Hang in there. The first Christmas is the hardest. My prayers are with you. Annette
I remember the post when you lost your brother *hugs*. Still, your place turned out dynamite! The polar bear is my favorite. We went for aqua and silver because we lost everything in a fire. Feel free to pop by!
I totally understand your feelings about the holidays. I lost my mom in May and it just doesn't feel "right" this year. (Not that I can't, I just feel that missing void) Anyways, I love that you added glitter AND feathers, I am obsessed with those two things completly. My Christmas post was very similar...

Such pretty colors together...they really compliment each other.
Wishing you much happiness the holiday season.
Take care,

I LOVE turquoise TOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I hit my goal of 50 links, so be sure to come back next week cuz I'm having a giveaway!!!!! Thanks for linking up to gettin' crafty on hump day!!!!!!! :)
It's all so beautiful! I love the color! And the sparkle! Such pretty decor!
The turquoise and white are lovely together. I've got one small PINK tree and a white one a bit larger.
I really haven't done much decorating this year. My husband is traveling so much and I just can't seem to get in the mood so I'm passing for the most part.
But the good thing is that I keep my pink tree out year round and I found some new pink lights to put on it! So I'm happy about that..LOL It's those little things that make a difference and having the pink tree out all year is just FUN..it makes me smile.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother...Hugs to you and I admire you for reaching for you non traditional decorating this year...I think you'll find that every year is a new reason to try something new and different.
I wish you a wonderful White Wednesday and it's so nice to meet you!
Hugs,
Stephanie ♥

I'm sad for your loss. I think that your brother must be smiling that you would go to the effort for his daughters, even as your own heart is broken. I pray that you will give yourself grace... every single day is a first without him this year. I pray that you will find a measure of peace this year as you minister love to his children. Thank you for sharing your beautiful turquoise blue Christmas design. It's lovely. Cherry Kay
