I am a Martha fan but don't think that the national drink of Brazil is my favorite drink because it is Martha's. I am not that fanatical.
My love of this cocktail started 10 years ago while dining at a Brazilian restaurant across from Central Park (it is no longer open).
While there, I had the most outrageous cocktail - a Capirinha.

It is made with cachaca, sugar and limes.
I have yet to drink as good a Capirinha since that night in 2000.
When I am out with friends and I order this drink, bartenders look at me like I have 3 heads.
Rather than teach them their job, I settle for a less-than-tasty white wine spritzer.
And so, the search continues . . .

Looks so refreshing and I love the color! If it's good enough for Martha, it's good enough for me. I hope that's not too fanatical!
I have never had that! Looks like I will be trying a new drink soon! :)
Oh cachaca, we've had such good times together! I've had a few Capirinhas too, and from what I remember, they are delicious. My memory is a bit foggy though since the Capirinhas were preceeded by shots of straight cachaca. Yick! Lol I participated in an exchange program in college and hosted a Brazilian Profesor, and let me tell you...those Brazilians know how to party! One of the gifts I was given was a bottle of cachaca. Another was a horrible hangover the next day and lots of photos. Oh, the memories! Good times with Capirinha and cachaca shots!
I have never heard of this drink, it looks so good!!! I love mojitos, is this similar?

I've not heard of this though it does look refreshing.
I had never heard of it either. But then, I did discover cocktails a little late in life!
Well, I make a killer one so come on down! :-) LOVE them!
