Summer Sun Conundrum

I love the beach and all things sand, sea, surf, ocean, waves . . . You get the picture.

The other day, I was at the beach doing what I love to do best - read.

Well, I flipped through my magazine and saw an article on skin cancer.

I could not bring myself to read it.

Not at the beach. I read it when I returned home.

I just felt so guilty to read the article while laying in the sun.

I have always had issues with the sun. But, the beach is my favorite place so off I go.

I don't spend hours in the sun like back in the day when I would spend summer weekends with friends at shore rentals, talking about the night out before and which guy we had met.

Now, 30 minutes on my stomach. 30 minutes on my back. And then, I am under my beach umbrella. For a total of about 3 hours.

I never would have thought to purchase a beach umbrella. But last year I did and it is the best investment I ever made.

Under $20 at CVS with an SPF of 100.

I am well hooked-up with tanning lotion supplies and always apply it before I get to the beach.

Well, Dr. M. I will be seeing you in September for my yearly full-body skin check.

Hopefully all will go well.

I really love the beach.

smart girl. I have over done it with the sun this year and am a little concerned. YIKES. Maybe I'll do the skin check up myself.
I hope that you are enjoying summer!!

Love the beach too; it's a necessary evil!

I have the kind of skin that freckles, but does not tan well. I usually hide under an umbrella. I do understand the need to put the magazine down though. The beach is too fabulous to read there-and besides, there's always something to see.

BTW, you take seriously great pictures. What kind of camera do you have?

I have the same problem! I have such fair skin and I always feel guilty going out sans sunscreen. I really need to get better about that! Pretty pictures.

Oh goodness, yes, the beach is my favorite place too. I lived on the NC coast more than once and would give just about anything to be back there.

Someone remind me again why I moved to the middle of OHIO, of all places? No good reason at all!

I love the beach too, but I have to ration my time there. I walk down the block to the beach and sit on the pavilion we have. I had skin cancer surgery when I was 39, so I don't take chances. Always under the umbrella at the ocean. Skin cancer is not a joke for sure!
Is that Robt Moses Beach?
