Jersey Shore is a Disgrace to Italians!

Jersey Shore.

Jerseylicious.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

The Sopranos.

All of these shows are a disgrace to Italian-Americans.

No one in my family, either in the USA or in Italy act like these nutjobs.

No male cousin of mine who currently reside in New Jersey act like this.

No one.

It is such a poor depiction of what Italians are really like and I hope people don't buy into this crap.

The only reality show I have found that comes close to how my family acts, with love and intelligence and a deep, strong sense of family is a show called Jersey Couture which is on Oxygen.

Smart, beautiful, family-oriented business owners.

This is real Italians at its best.

Not these drinking, sexing, low-class, uneducated, loud, obnoxious bunch on television right now.

Reality shows are a scourge! Why do people want others to see them at their worst? And if there isn't enough of the bad behavior, I think they shows encourage or make it happen.

That is too funny because, as I have admittedly seen VERY LITTLE of these kids and their behavior, I never considered them Italian, just awful kids!

It's too bad that's how they are being portrayed but I think most people know those are just huge exagerations! I must admit..I'm hooked on all the Real Housewives shows! I think it's funny to watch! Money doesn't buy class, that's for sure!

What, no Ray Romano? Everybody loves Raymond!

Carmie, you stopped by my new writing blog the other day, and I don't want you to miss out on the drawing.

Everyone that subscribes (and you did) and leaves a comment on the post about the drawing (you didn't) is entered. I'll probably wrap that up this weekend, so go look at the top right of the blog to find the post about the drawing. I need comments to be on that post so I don't lose anyone.

I agree with you, however, I do watch the housewives. It is evident that it's all about the publicity and $$$. :-) Jersey Couture is real, in my opinion. I like the sense of family values and what they seem to stand for.

Class and elegance are acquired ~ not purchased.

I'm from Jersey and all of those shows have such a bad view of New Jersey. We're NOTHING like that. Sigh. I agree that Jersey Couture is the only half normal one...

Following (late) from Friendly Friday! Hopefully you can stop by and follow me as well!

I was wondering when I was going to run across someone upset about how these shows were portraying NJ and Italians.

THank goodness there are people like me who know it's all bs.
