While the kiddies were off last week, my 17 year-old niece asked if I would take her to IKEA since she and her younger sister just painted their rooms beautiful, fresh new colors.
Well, let's be honest here; their mom painted their rooms while they went out.
My younger niece was to accompany us but the two were fighting so I spent the day with the older niece at IKEA and the younger niece got to accompany me to Holy Thursday mass. Hmmm . . . I am not sure who got the better end of the deal here.
Some of the items I purchased at IKEA are this beautiful vase in my favorite color for $6.99.
Also, 3 dual-purpose tealight/taper candleholders @ 49cents each.
We split a Greek salad and a HUGE buffalo chicken wrap. Each item was $3.99.
All in all, a great day. What do you think of IKEA and what have you recently found there?
Following is a quote from the garden section of IKEA that reminded my niece of her grandfather (my dad), the bestest gardener in the world.

I have not been to an Ikea in ages....I need to rectify that...;-)
I love IKEA! When I go, I spend the whole day there! So inspiring! Last time I went I got a large medicine cabinet and a shower curtain to start the boys' bathroom make-over. It's almost done!
I wish Ikea was closer to me; I haven't been there in years. It's a day trip for me. I do love seeing what everyone finds there and now, apparently, their food looks pretty good, too!
IKEA is certainly the only shop where in enter with one think to buy and and i go out of it with a big blue bag full of thinks ! I love to buy stuffs there ! but i have to be very strong to not buy everything!
I love Ikea! My bf and I go there on dates haha. We pretend we live in the model rooms and then eat at the cafe. Best store ever, in my opinion.
@Karisa Tells All
I think IKEA is a great date!
Always fun finds at Ikea. I love their candles and paper napkins, I like more heritage style stuff, so I was fortunate to find simple heritage style off white everyday dishes there a few years back.
That salad is making me hungry now....
thanks for stopping by my blog today:-)

I love Ikea, but i think you have to be very careful not to just end up with the same stuff as everyone else. The are doing a set of Picasso prints at the moment for £35, which I am coveting, and also I love all of the candles and holders!
I love the vase, it is just beautiful. We do not have an IKEA in the entire state. In fact, I have never been to one, but we are getting one soon!!! WOO HOO! Hope you are having a nice week!
I am the only knuckle head who has not been in Ikea!! Hopefully this summer. *fingers crossed* And that vase is beautiful!
there's an ikea by my boyfriend's work, and they all go there for a quick, cheap lunch. he loves the hot dog combo, which comes with ice cream. seperately. clearly, not on the hot dog, i mean. :)
glad you stopped by the blog the other day...i have a black thumb, too, believe me. feel like i waste money every summer with no visual change in landscape. bah!
IKEA is the greatest place on earth. 50 cent hot dogs?? Please! I'm all over that. Sure my apartment now looks like page 35 of the catalogue...but its so pretty!
(I made up that part about the page number...but I do have a lot of ikea stuff in my apartment)
I wish we had an IKEA near by. They've got some lights (for one thing) that I really want, but I don't want to pay shipping for them too. That vase is beautiful! Thanks for joining my linky party! It means a lot!
☺ Celeste
I too wish there was an Ikea close by me. I don't like paying shipping either! lol
Love the quote.
I absolutely adore IKEA!!! My sis, best friend, and I always try to make it a girl's day affair. It is fun, reasonably priced, and we almost always see something new!
No ikea here! The closest one is about an 8 hour drive... sad for me :(
I love ikea. The closest one to us is north of Cincinnati-so about an hour and half. We get up extra early and go have breakfast ($1.99) and a cinnamon roll (to die for). Then we do a walk through and shop, after that we have lunch. Then off to the new outlets 10 miles away. It is an entire day...but we love it!
I do so love Ikea...love the colour of your vase.
Thank you for your caring comment you left on my blog the other day concerning my daughter's migraines...I was just overwhelmed by all the great friends that left such wonderful advice...yours included. Hugs for a great day. xoxo
I.LOVE.IKEA.
and I want everything you bought! That vase is so pretty. You're a good aunt :)

I live at Ikea. I'm almost kidding.
LOVE your finds!
That looks trés bien! We always opt for the hot dog chip drink deal... I think next time I will venture into the restaurant part of IKEA... j'adore Greek salads!
Looks like you got great deals and the food looks sooo yummy!

That is a gorgeous blue on that vase! I've only been to IKEA in Chicago, when DS moved their for college. So much fun. Have yet to get to the one closer to us - Atlanta - yet.
LOVE that vase... and I need to go make a return to Ikea soon... hmmmm...
Following you from FMF. Hope you'll come follow me back! :)

Ohhhh man, that food is making me HUNGRY. And I love the blue color on that vase, too!
Ikea is definitely a destination spot for me! Last time I bought two Lack bookshelves (love 'em!) and a low TV cabinet. Now I've got my eye on some curtains...

I got those same tea light holders! I love them, I think it's time to go again.
We try to get to ikea once a week. The food is great, the kid's play area and smalland are amazing, and we love, love, love their products.
I was just there with my 16 year old son last week! I already have the flip tealight holders and my other son swiped them to take to his college apartment. We did get a frame and some candles and then the yummy frozen yogurt! It was the 70 degree day and was perfect! The other lunches look great!!

I haven't been to IKEA for ages. That salad looks great! Glad you had a fun day with your niece!

I love Ikea! Great finds...
Thanks for joining Get Your Craft on Thursday! Please join me next week for another great party!
We live fairly near an IKEA but we don't go all that often. Still love to visit it though!
We did buy a coffee table there, but I just love to go and look at all the furniture displays and see what's "new." Also love to buy little things like candles, etc.
Thanks for linking up today.
I'm glad you linked up today. Forgot to mention that I did not see a link back to my blog with a mention of the MYHSM meme.
I'd appreciate it if you could do that for next time! It's just a courtesy link, as well as so that your readers could see what the other people who linked to the meme are up to this week!
There is a link to the instructions on my meme post if you missed them. Thank you and have a great day!
I Love Ikea and always buy my desks from there. And fabric, and candles, and plants and lighting, and window shades, and bedding and I could go on..... I have never bought food there tho. Hmmm Love Keri
I love that vase, and that food looks so yummy.
Great finds! And a fabulous deal on the food! I've never been to IKEA. I don't believe they have one around here. Thanks for linking up for Friday Favorites!
Hi Carmie-
I can't believe you ate at Ikea and didn't get one of those lacy chocolate cookies. They sell them in indivdual packs or a 3 pack and even a whole box. On second thought it is probably better you didn't because they are so good and you can't eat just one - the whole box is more like it.
That is great!
thanks for linking up to check me out saturday
