She who Hesitates Loses a Lamp

I returned to HomeGoods yesterday, a favorite store of mine to wander through, hoping to find a couple of interesting pieces that I had seen two weeks ago and had decided to purchase.

Well, of course they were nowhere to be found.

So, disappointed as I was, I continued to wander and came across this great lamp.

I fell in love! Since there isn't a real Valentine in my life, a lamp will do, right?
It would fit perfectly in a room I renovated in my home that I call my "Cape Cod" room. It was a catchall mess that I wish I had taken a before picture of. But, sometimes the before is so depressing that I just forge ahead.

Prompted by a visit from my cousin from Italy, it was time to purge. I am very proud of this room and mediate and practice yoga in it every most days.

Anyway, I was iffy about the lamp because of the price - $49.99. So, I took a photo and decided I would revisit it after going through the rest of the store.

Well, wouldn't you know. Turning the corner of an aisle a while later, I came across my lamp in someone's cart.

I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Remember, she who hesitates loses a lamp.

Believe it or not, that exact same thing has happened to me before AND at HomeGoods! :-( In my case it was a mirror. Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a good day.

I just found homegoods myself, I know lame, but it is in a different town than I live! The lamp is cute, but this means there is a better cheaper one out there, keep looking!!!

I like your attitude Bethany - there is a better lamp out there for me AND a better man - maybe a man holding a lamp :)

Oh no! Did you actually take a picture of the other person's cart? That is awesome.

That really was a fantastic lamp! And if you really really want it... Make it! I just did a post on spray painting some brass lamps... and I got lamp shades for 4.97 on clearance at Target... Find something close at the goodwill, and a can of Krylon's "Blue Ocean Breeze" and an inexpensive shade to stencil and have at it! Depending on what the lap you find is made of you might also need a can of KILLZ primer.

Have fun!

P.S. You got a great shot of the lamp... i looked at it closer and that shade could also be made from covering it with fabric!

This exact thing happened to me at Home Goods... with a lamp. I was so mad at myself for not grabbing it and haven't seen one like it since. Oh well, like you said, not meant to be. I'm cracking up that you took a picture of the cart it was in, that's something I would do! :) Thanks for visiting... I'm enjoying looking through your blog and now your newest follower. Would love if you followed back. Have a great week!
